Comma, Secured is a security company that provides faster emergency response using drones. The goal was to create an intuitive, user-friendly interface that can be used by both companies and people.
It was designed to be usable and user-friendly. The app allows users to quickly dispatch a drone to respond to an emergency on mobile devices. In addition, it displays the drone's current location, flight time, and other response-related information. In addition, Comma's interface can be used for other security purposes as well, including its 'walk me' function.
Designing a successful app can be a daunting task, especially when it involves personal safety. To ensure it’s done successfully, I needed to focus on reliability and efficiency and thoughtful design was key.
I have designed the user interface to be simple and intuitive, respecting the company's brand guidelines, and making the user journey as calming, and reassuring as possible – especially in a potentially stressful situation.
We decided to follow the HCD process over the course of 6 months.
We followed the User Centered Design process to investigate how homeowners and families valued security and how they would build their security system around it. Letting user research be our guide, we brainstormed and designed multiple solutions. We tested our ideas through usability tests and developed a high-fidelity interactive prototype based on our findings, to support this process the built user profiles and user journeys.
User Profiles make designing easier as they help us envision and create with users in mind. Thinking about specific scenarios and people helped create an interface that best meets comma’s users’ needs.
User Journeys helped identify the user's needs and what they expected throughout the process of downloading the app and subscribing to a service.
